People wonder why I keep coming back to you, despite the pain you leave me in. I can’t describe it to them. What it’s like.
I appear on the sidewalk, same time, same place and there you are. And even though I tell myself I’ll take it slow, I’m drawn in by the smell of you, the sound of you. And before I know it our hearts are pounding in unison, and, skin burning, I am panting and overwhelmed. You surround me, drawing me in, calm and quiet while I pant and strive.
It’s over too soon, and your breath cools me, brushing against my forehead. Yes it’s too soon that I arrive home, stripping off my running shoes, storing them sadly in the closet and longing for tomorrow, when I’ll get to see you again, my favorite park, and run again and have that feeling again.
Who needs women? I have mother nature, the ultimate lover.
